   Sure, if you want to spend the money. :-) You should be able to
adapt one of those funky "lowrider" hydraulic type things to do something
like that...

   I think it would probably take away from the performance for most
things. 0-60 might be faster than a 4x2 (due to initial traction), but
the 4x2 would probably catch up by the end of the 1/4 mile... (Due to
less weight [and less drivetrain friction?]) In dry conditions that is...
In wet, the 4x4 would probably have a distinct advantage. My previous car
was all wheel drive, which got you going in a hurry; no wheelspin
whatsoever. The clutch had to bear that load though. :-( Made me real
nervous; I never took off with more than 3,000 RPM's. I dunno if it would
be the same for the 4x4.
