I'm not sure if its the same thing or not, but I get a similar howl
on the driver's side. It doesn't do it all the time though; it seems like
a crosswind will really get it howling. In my case, if I open the driver's
side window a little bit, the howl stops. I've got a '96 too, but I have
the larger "chrome" mirrors.
