I would think this was something wrong internally in the transfercase.
Better check it out. Take a good look at linkage while having a friend
engae and disengage. Try to determine if it is going all the way into
4WD. Might be just partially engaging, causing normal driving
vibrations to cause disengagement. whatever - I'd get it corrected
before very long and I had somthing major go out.
