Aye, there's the rub. I paid about $900 CDN (via my installer, who
became a JL Dealer in order to complete my install).

$519 USD x 1.4 exhange rate x 1.07 tariff + $100 CDN shipping =~ $900 CDN,
so I'd say 519 sounds about right.

This is expensive, but like I said in my previous post, (a) there's no
way an installer can build anything close to this for even double that
price, and (b) there aren't too many places to put a properly-designed
ported 8" enclosure (I'm talking about a more conventional box here) in
your Dak without sacrificing the whole back seat or (maybe) rebuilding
the center console.

On the other hand, the only impact of the stealthbox I can see is that
you lose about 2-3" of backseat headroom (still high enough for someone
5'10" or so, but not much taller), and the back seats are marginally more
comfortable.

Bottom line: if you want really good (as opposed to really loud) bass,
and can't tolerate loss of interior room, the sb is the way to go.

If you haven't already, you can check out http://stealthbox.jlaudio.com/
for a couple of pictures and a description of where it goes.

cheers,
mike
