The owner's manual in my 98 lists something like 80-120 ft.lbs. using
the cross-bolt tightening pattern. No special references for the 7" or
8" alloy wheels.

I would assume that you should torque them to 80, and then retorque up
to 100 (if you're really cautious, go 60,80,100). In the past, I have
always stayed a bit lower than the max with alloy wheels. I have the 8"
rims and am running them at 100 ft.lbs. right now. Besides, wheels
tightened to max torque are a b@#$%^ to get loose when changing a flat
with the stock lug wrench.
