Some people mount the fitting supplied with the airfilters at the knock out
hole on the baseplate, then cut the hose and plug it on. However, I
knocked out the hole, enlarged it slightly to accept the factory grommet in
the original can, and just plugged the black factory fitting into it.
Didn't have to cut any original items, and the hose is the perfect fit if
you turn the base plate to take up the slack. Makes it much easier to R&R
if you have to.
