5 lug bolt pattern

I had a question about the bolt hole pattern -
I asked around about the 5 lug pattern before I
put my lift kit in because the wheels with the
back set I needed were more plentiful in the 5 lug
pattern - but to no avail. the question really is
what about the front end - you can cut and slash
almost any rear-end to fit it in a Dakota I've
seen some pretty shabby work on other vehicles.
But how do you change the front to match the back?
Or can you just replace certain parts for say a
newer Ram that some idiot totalled trying to beat a
Dakota?
That brings around another question - I was working
for Chrysler designing some of the systems on the
new Dakota and the Ram van and when I found out
that they were going to keep the 6 lug bolt
pattern - I thought I was gonna go through the roof
especially when they have all those parts off the Ram
they could use (front rotors and rear-end parts) and
(my opinion) I think the wheels off the Ram look better
than the Dakota's (al alloy) Tooling costs are less for
a 5 lug too. I think Chrysler kinda screwed up on that
one.
