A couple of years ago I removed a tree from my front yard.
I used the Dak to rip it out of the ground. I thought I
had all roots cut .Hooked a BIG chain around the trunk
and to the reciver hitch. Put on my STICKY Quick Times
Did a burn out to heat the tires.I missed one root.
When i tried to pull the tree down I had about 10 feet of slack.
I hit the gas, I shoot forward i came to a FAST stop when the
slack was taken up. The tree did not budge But the back of the
DAK got at least three feet off the ground.Gad Idon't have a

I tried to do the same thing with my Nissan 4x4 in locked low.
Getting nowhere and fearing the chain was going to snap and launch
me into the neighbors yard the lightbulb went on. I grabbed my $190
2 ton engine hoist and promptly listened to the sound of roots
being ripped from the ground! (those trees fight REAL hard to
forces being applied sideways, but straight up goes quite a bit
easier! :-) After that I ended up removing 3 other stumps for me
and 2 for my neighbor. Still haven't gotten around to pulling the
engine from my car yet! :-)
