Alan,
   Well, the sound I heard did sound like it was coming from the
lifter, but it sounded way to heavy. Sounded more like someone hitting
the valve cover with a big hammer. After the truck quit giving me the
code 12 it quit. Gas is pretty cheap around here right now so I'll
have to give the 92 octane a try, to see if that pinging/grinding will
quit.
