The SBEC usually takes a few days to adjust to mods like cat-back or
headers. As you drive the computer gradually compensates for increased
flow. When I put my cat-back system on, I didn't feel much of any
improvement in performance on the drive home. After about two days the
performance came back and then some.... This is for OBD1, I believe the
newer (96 and up) OBDII's compensate much more quickly, almost instantly.
