IMHO, as my truck is right now in the shop getting a rebuilt OD unit, I
would NOT abuse the OD unit. Using it to shift into 3rd at high speed ,
besides causing the engine to increase RPMs fairly wquickly, is putting
strain on this weak link in the powertrain.
