Here's something I wasn't aware of when I bought my 98. One of the reasons I
switched from a sports car to a truck Is because I want to come out on top of
any collision I am In. Keep the Dakota "Ram Tough!!"
Chrysler Corp. spokesman Mike Rosenu would not comment on future design
changes, but said the automaker already has implemented its new hydroforming
technology in the 1998 Dodge Durango and 1997 Dakota. The process uses high-
pressure water to form parts that were once made out of a single piece of
steel.

It makes the vehicle lighter by taking out the unnecessary weight - thus
making it safer for car drivers if involved in a collision - but does not
affect its strength, he said.
