Mostly used in planes in NY. They used to use it quite a lot around bridges
but it is easier for lawyers to challenge than radar or laser. I used to have
one all the time, the last one was a Bell. But the last speeding ticket I got
(long time ago) I probably would not have gotten if I had not had the
detector. The instant on Radar give no detectable signal til they trigger it
and then your had anyway. I was running 68 in a 55 and was shooting the bull
and not sure what I was doing and the dectector went off I touch the brakes
and out came the cop. He said before your Radar detector went off and you hit
the brakes you were doing 68 (they usually wouldn't bother you under 70) but
when I hit the brakes before I had good sight of him he knew I had the radar
detector and therefore pulled me over. I had also heard from troopers I know
that same thing if your border line and they know you have a dectector then
they pull you over just for spite. Now I drive just under what they will
usually let you get away with and drive right past em, Hain't had a ticket in
many moons, boy I hope this post doesn't change my luck ???
