For the quarter, Chrysler car sales down. However, truck and suv sales
(145,021 units) "drove the automaker to near-record high sales in the
first quarter ."
"Truck sales accounted for nearly 70% of sales. Dodge trucks rose to
their highest monthly level ever in March with more than 89,000 units
sold. Sales of SUVs, Jeeps and Durangos, were up 30% from last year."
Compact car sales were also up for a record seventh straight month in
March with 19,000 units sold. I guess somebody's been reading the Neon
postings on our list!.
Chrysler said it expects to have hit a 16% market share for the quarter.
