My stock '92 V-8 lives on 87 octane and never pings. Buying the better
grade never gives more power or performance. I buy a tankful every
couple of months to get the injector detergents that are only put in the
premium grades.
Now, my '94 V-8 with all the mods (computer, cam, exhaust, etc.) wont
live on anything except premium. It'll ping its ass off without it.
