  Well, I can only speak for the pre-97s (mine is a 95, and many buddies
have 96s), but these Dakotas do NOT have a knock sensor. So the quick
answer to your question is no. The Dakota's PCM does manipulate engine
timing, but not in response to detected engine knock.
