Trust me. You DON'T want air shocks.

unless for that bungee cord ride..............

First thing I did was replace the stock air-shocks with air-bags on a
'77 El Camino I once had. Before, the ass end was jacked up under
pressure and bounced around like a pogo-stick when empty. With the bags
you get the correct valving/ride of stock shocks and the bags act like springs
(as load is added) without jacking up the ass end (which is correct for load
 handling). I don't know what's best for draggin' but can't believe a
pair of pogo sticks are the answer (equiv to jacking up the pressure
with no load). Just start the axle hop and hang on for dear life! :-)
