Dakota list filters

I have noticed in my 6 months on the list, that some threads go on and on.
When they do, people tell people to stop the thread. People get defensive
and tell other people to just delete their messages if they do not want to
read them. This makes the thread even bigger. So I am going to tell you
what I do to not look at those messages at all. I use Microsoft Outlook 98
(and before that, MS Outlook 97, and before that MS Internet Mail) for my
e-mail client and it will allow you to create filters to move or delete
messages that have a certain sender or subject. For example, if I am no
longer interested in the country music thread, I create a rule that searches
the subject line for "country music" and deletes the message. I do not have
to look at it or read or even think about it. Best of all, I don't have to
answer to it and read/delete my answer and it's replies. MS Outlook is FREE
and you can download it from microsoft.com. PC Magazine this month did a
review of e-mail clients and many other e-mail clients have filtering
capabilities as well, (this can be found at
http://www.zdnet.com/pcmag/features/e-mail/index.html). It seems like a
win/win situation for the readers of the list. So if this helps you, your
welcome, if it doesn't, sorry to intrude.
