I am having the same experience with my search here in So. Cal. I've called
about 6 dealer. 3 said they will check and call back but never bothered.

Cerritos Dodge (big dealer in area) said they have one but it's not for
sale. Salesman said they will be out in September ('99 model?) but I can
order one. Does that mean they already set prices?

Valencia Dodge said Dodge stopped production altogether. I can't stand BS so
I said I'll call him back. Not likely.

Moss Motors in Riverside (thanks for the info, DML members!) has a reg cab
but dealer is asking for $25k (MSRP on window says $22). I need the club cab
and won't pay over MSRP.

That's about it. I've given up for now. Maybe I'll order a '99 if that's
possible. Hopefully they will have quad doors like the RAM.

Subject: DML: 1998 Dodge Dakota R/T

I have been looking to purchase a 1998 Dodge Dakota R/T and have had
nothing but
trouble. Everyone I have gone to give me different information.
Are they available right
now? Are they close to 30,000$ as one dealer told me? I am ready
to buy and have
never seen the truck, I just need to find the right dealership to
help me out. The dealer's
I've talked to abouth this keep blowing me off. I really need a
good dealer ship in the
Florida, I am in the Tampa are but I will drive to a good dealership
if they have one. I am
looking for a black reg cab R/T with air and abs. Also anyone who
already has an R/T
and has some time please tell me what you think, I would really
appreciate it. Also anyone
who likes to guess, What do you think the R/T would run in the
quarter with the Mopar
        headers,M1 intake,Filtercharger system,and the computer upgrade.

P.S. Does the Chip Upgrade take off the speed limiter.

Thanks for any help Tom Fahey
