Dave,

The 4.7 is an OHC V8 that CC has been developing over the past several years and
will beintroduced in thew 1999 Grand Cherokee.

I doubt if MP will drop support of the Magnum V8 for many years to come, They
still support the Hemi, B/RB, LA, Slant 6, 2.2/2.5 and Jeep 360. All of which
have been out of production for several years.

As far as DB nixing perfoprmance, I doubt it. They have a very long history of
building performance cars and in fact built a 4 door muscle car in the 60s
called the 300SEL 6.3. These cars could hold thier own in the 1/4 mile against
the premier muscle cars of the day and would out and out embarass GTOs, SS396s,
442s, etc. When it came to handling it was a no brainer. They are very active in
motorsports today competing in F1 and Indy car. They dropped out of sports car
racing in the late 80s because they dominated, it was a case of Mercedes
against Mercedes.
