Re: R/T owners: what did you pay?

As an aside, has anyone seen an R/T (regular or club) that has the overhead
console group option? Seems kind of silly they build these 2000 with nearly
every option except this one. Noting the thread a few weeks back about
doing the console yourself, and what a pain it would be to do the
computerized version, why do you think Dodge decided to skip this option?

Just wondering...

If anyone has seen an R/T for sale in the D/FW area, lemme know. I'm still
looking, only have found 3, all RC (looking for CC).

You can get the current $500 rebate from Dodge on the R/T.

When I bought my RC R/T (it has every option except overhead console) I had
the $500 new buyers rebate and a $400 new graduate rebate. I then
negotiated the best deal I could, then they had to come down the extra $900.
My dealer was kind of unwilling to deal at first, he thought that the Mopar
bedliner and bug shield they put on should add $400 to the MSRP of $22,100
so I told him he was crazy. So I spent the rest of the day (I spent an
entire Saturday arguing with them) being as annoying as I could and waving
the cash around in their face....I even asked customers that were coming in
(right in front of the manager no less), if they thought a cheap plastic
bedliner and bug shield were worth $400! Most of them said 'no' and when I
explained how unreasonable the the dealership was being, some of the
customers turned around and left. That is when they finally decided they
had some room to deal on the R/T. When I was all said and done the R/T
listed for $22,500...and I drove!
it away for $20K. I figure the
dealer still made $2-3K on the truck, but at least I didn't pay list price
like they first told me I would have to.

'98 RC R/T

>>> "Mok, Alan (SPB Brentwood)" <AMok@spbank.com> 05/11 11:25 AM >>>
I found an R/T and the dealer won't go below MSRP.

It's a CC with all the usually options. Power everything, auto, A/C, HD
service group, keyless entry, etc.

The MSRP is $24,035.

Anyone got a lower price? Where?

Alan
