Re: synthetic oil claims

I have seen an article in Muscle Mustangs showing a dyno proven 10hp gain at the rear wheels in a 5.0L Mustang by using RedLine synthetic motor oil. If I can find the article, I will try to have it scanned and will send it in. Also, $15 for a synthetic oil change (if you do it yourself) is one of the cheapest ways to gain power.

a
good synthetic oil can free up as much as 10 hp. Plus, you can go longer
between oil changes (if you continue to change the filter) and it provides
superior protection for your motor >>

Bull hockey! Even Mobil makes no such claims...and believe me they would if
they could. In fact, the ONLY claim Mobil makes for Mobil 1 is that it
flows better in EXTREMELY low temperatures and that it retains its
properties better in EXTREMELY high temperatures. Period!
So, if you wanna pay 4x as much for both oil and filters, fine. Just don't
rationalize it with claims that not even its maker can support.
