All the email makes me feel important... I am new to the list, but not to
HP vehicles. While us dakota owners seem to be running to open element
under hood "pickup" air filters, the "muscle car" crowd (of which I am a
member) Is trying to find cold air anywhere they can (hood scoops, ducts
etc.) IMO a larger bore cold air induction system would naturally muffle
the intake "rush" and increase density as well as fool the ole smog guys
here in CA. In fact, it shouldnt really mess with the smog output at all
unless the computer is "really tuned"... Does the V10 ram have a cold air
hose and element "box" that has a substantiallly larger dia and surface
area? It doesnt take much diameter increase to improve flow rate (head loss
is inversely proportional to the square of the dia or so) Not a real drag
strip concept, but for the street a good compromise (never bothered by
intake rush noises on the strip, too busy concentrating) While the ram v10
seems grossly underrated in HP, It couldnt be attributed to a restricted
intake, could it??
