This isn't a flame or a critisism or anything, I'm just curious...
Why is it that nitrous is considered cheating when superchargers
are not? When you get down to what they're doing, they're nearly
identical! Basically, both force more oxygen into the engine, allowing
you to burn more fuel and make more power. The supercharger does it by
cramming air through the engine, and the nitrous makes the air that
the engine breathes "more dense". They both just supply more oxygen
than usual.
Is it because nitrous is a system that has to be replenished
constantly, whereas a supercharger is a power-on-demand type of
thing that is a more permanent part of the engine? Gasolene
needs to be replenished all the time too...
