I went to the Atlantic Mopar Nationals today...and man was it hot, at least
200 in the shade. If anyone remembers my last post, at 950 miles or so the
truck went a best of 15.563 @ 87.75. Since then I installed a drop in K&N and
did the floor register thing for a cool air intake. That's it. Almost every
I knew there was running .2 to .3 slower than normal. My time slips showed
the air temp between 85 and 89 degrees and humidity around 35%. Anyway these
are the results:
60 330 1/8 MPH 1000 1/4 MPH
2.223 6.465 9.992 69.80 13.045 15.627 87.54
2.274 6.540 10.073 69.67 13.134 15.727 87.13
2.254 6.612 10.299 67.57 13.469 16.131 84.99
2.336 6.534 10.057 69.85 13.114 15.703 87.30
2.238 6.523 10.329 61.38 13.907 16.893 76.27
2.142 6.340 9.877 69.59 12.940 15.561 83.36
Run #3 I missed 3rd, Runs #4 and #5 I was off it during brackets (despite
horrible lights, I made it to the 3rd round). The most important thing is run
#6, I tried to launch it differently and got no wheel spin. I slipped the
clutch slightly and didn't stab the gas, this is the best 60 foot by far and
has more to do with the ET then and cool air intake (MPH is still low). I had
the other guy covered so I hit the brakes hard about 3 cars before the finish
line. My computer says it would have been a 15.47 if I had stayed into it.
Anyway, I can not prove or disprove if this mod is effective or not. I will
try again tomorrow and if the conditions are closer to the first time I ran
the truck I will see.
Shane was there but I never got to see him run, I spoke to him briefly and he
was running low 15's.
