Here's a quick tip for anyone else that is still gonna do this mod. Sorry
I didn't post this sooner. Most auto parts stores will carry super cheap
fuel siphone. Typically plastic tubing with a little squeeze bellow to
start the siphoning process. I stick this down into the radiator and
siphon into a washed out milk jug until it's down too low for the tube.
Then when you disconnect the radiator hose from the radiator (no coolant in
the top since it's been siphoned down) you stick the tube in there and
siphon out what's sittin above the closed thermostat. I'd be surprised if
I dropped more than a tablespoon of coolant. Took me a while longer but no
mess.
