While its true that the paper element may allow enough air to
pass, what concerns me is what else is it allowing to pass through?
The K&N oiled gauze type filters have proven to be more effective at
filtering particles than the paper type. Also, I wonder what would
happen if water got on the paper filter? (I've never tried it so I
have no idea what would happen, but with my open hood scoop, I feel
more comfortable with the K&N in there.)
