Jack,
I have a 97 Sport and I picked it up with 3 miles on it. It wasn't out of alignment but I also noticed the clunk when I turned right. I also saw that if someone was sitting in the passenger seat, the clunk went away so I figure it was something on that side of the truck..hope this helps.
