DML,

Just thought I would share info about an IMPROPER brake cable factory =
installation with my new 98 Dak 4x4.

  I was hearing a strange clunking/thumping noise in the truck's engine =
compartment directly in front of the steering wheel, and took it in to =
the dealer on three occasions to have it looked at. After testing the =
truck on the front wheel lift, replacing both front rotors, brake pads, =
and wheel bearings, the service guys finally put the truck up on the =
front & rear wheel lift and figured out the noise was coming from the =
emergency brake cable running down the left underside of the truck that =
was rubbing on the inside of the BACK LEFT tire of the truck.

Sure enough, they replaced & rerouted the brake cable (today), inside =
of the rear suspension vs. outside of it (where the factory had =
incorrectly installed it) and the noise was gone - voila.

Can't say I'm happy with the service I got (4 days' in the shop in =
all), or the factory mishap by Dodge, and am thinking about complaining =
to the Dodge customer service folks about it, but wanted to share with =
this list in case anyone else was experiencing the same or might =
experience it.

Does anyone have a good contact & phone number at Dodge customer =
service who might care about something like this? I'd appreciate it. I =
might just let my wife have it at them - that'll teach them :)

Tom
(just coming up on 2025 miles now)
