FWD Trucks, why they do not work.

The reason you do not see FWD trucks, with any kind of payload rating, is
that when loaded down, the front wheels get light and you lose traction.
Think about when you have a substantial amount of weight in/on your truck,
especially when that weight is a trailer. The majority of the wieght is
either directly on or behind the rear axle. The leverage of this wieght
raises the front end. As you raise the front end, there is less weight on
the front tires, and they do not hold to the ground as well. The idea that a
FWD truck would help when pulling a boat out of the water would hurt you
more from the lack of tracktion due to the wieght transfer than you would
gain with the tires being on dry ground, which is unlikely on any boat ramp
that has been used with in 20 miuntes of you being there anyway. They only
way to safely get a boat out of the water is to use your throttle very
carefully and not to push any harder than is required to get you and the
boat moving.
