Your truck is a 2wd, right? How much clearance do you have
between the back of the M.P. air cleaner and the firewall? How
about in front? Is the front of the air cleaner hitting the hood?
I am currently running the paper element that came with the
air cleaner. I'm guessing that it's 2.75" high. The front of
the M.P. air cleaner is making a good dent in the underside
of my hood. I don't have the hood liner in place.
In back, the air cleaner is within 1/8" of the firewall. I don't
see how a person could fit a 14" cleaner on my truck.
I haven't tried the Edel 14" setup that is sitting on my
living room floor but I plan to give it a test-fit on
Saturday. I don't think it will even be close to fitting.
I'm wondering if the engine in a 4wd truck sits differently than
the engine in a 2wd truck. I don't have enough clearance to
install the "Jiffy Pop" air cleaner.
Anyone know if the underhood clearances are different on 4wd vs 2wd?
