George,
Tell him to give you a call when he gets a baby-sitter. How do you tell
your old-lady that you are taking the baby out for a little drag racing?
I think the words knuckle dragger, pretty much sums this guy up. Good
call.....

Subject: DML: was I wrong in not racing?
Ok, sombody tell me why all my friends say I was wrong in truning down a
race
with this pesky RX-7, driven by a knuckle dragging, no brain moron.
Here is the story....
Last nite a bunch of us were just hanging out, and shooting the shit in
a
parking lot. We somtimes race here, cause it is at the end of an
industrial
strip and it road is actually better than the local dragstrip. Anyway,
there
is this guy (about 35 or so) that I see in the morning on my way to
work. I
raced and beat him on monday, and he was not happy. I friend of mine
told me
he wanted a rematch, and told the guy where I'd be last nite. So the
guy
shows up and wants to race, I said sure.
We pull up and line up I start to smoke the tires and look over at him
to see
if he was doing the same thing and that is when I saw it....I saw the
top of a
car seat for a kid, WITH THE KID SITTING IN IT!!!! The kid couldn't have
been
more than 2 years old!!
When my friend flashed the flashlite at us, the RX-7 took off, and I
just sat
there. I was not going to race him with a baby in the car. I just backed
up
and pulled into the parking lot, shut off my Dak and got out. At this
point
everyone there just started verbaly abusing the shit out of me. I have
a very
thick skin todwards this type of abuse, but nobody really cared why I
backed
down.
My whole reason is, if there was to be an accident and the kid became
injured,
or killed I dont know how I could have lived with myself. I want all of
your
honest opinions on this matter, cause it is really starting to bother me
that
I didn't do it.
