re: Oil pressure drop

I have a 98 5.2L that has 10k miles on it.
I just did my oil change over from mineral break-in,
to Mobil 1. I have not seen any change in oil pressure
reading, but I will say it is odd, because it is driven
by
oil sensor
then
computer
At start up, it stays at 0 for about 10 sec, then
jumps up to the 70# mark. It will stay there and
NEVER vary till I shut it off. At shut off, if I flip
the key back on, w/out restarting, the gauge stays at 0
If this was straight sensor to gauge unit, you would
see fluctation at RPM change and startup - shutdown -
extended idle.
One time, with mineral oil, waiting for a train xing on
a hot day, the gauge drifted down to about 40% from it's normal
65%. I think the computer (engine or dash?) is takeing over
control of the gauge, and has too long of a delay built in.
I think they put idiot light logic in it , it's ok or not ok
Either way, the gauge, as a gauge, is useless to me.
