Robert,
I too agree that THAT SUCKS... for some reason I also locked up when
replying to your email???... anyhow its better in digest form. Had to have
the tailgate of my deep amethyst R/T CC painted after the dealer installed
tonneau cover scratched it (dealer mi-installed, deep scratch.) They use an
outside bodyshop since they are a tiny dealership ( in a little town called
Sandiego, over 1million served...) The service manager assured me that thye
use the factory reccomended re-paint system and that it was a sgood or
better than factory paint. after seeing the results I might even agree with
him, although time will tell. anyhow it came out great so far, and the deep
amethyst must be a bitch to match. Talk to the service guys in the dealer
bodyshops and find out what "the factory reccomended paint system is " and
then go hunting or have them do it!
