traction bars - was Shorty vs. Long-tube headers

Start with =BD" space and test from there. That's the reason I built my =

spacers out of 1/8" plate - easy to adjust. Yes, too close will not=20
be as effective and will stiffen out your ride. You might play with=20
different snubber distances for right and left. My left snubber is=20
just a "c" hair closer too. Maybe it's compressed spings from driver,=20
gas tank, battery, steering column, ect on left side?? Motor and=20
tranny offset to passenger side doesn't balance it out?? Unless you=20
hear a funky noise, I really wouldn't worry about a bent axle.

Anyone know what a good distance is from the snubber to the leaf?=20
How important is it? I immagine if its too far away, the=20
effectiveness
will be diminished, but what if it's too close? (is there such a=20
thing?)

Also, should the right snubber be the same distance away from the=20
leaf
as the left snubber? My left snubber is a little closer than the=20
right
one. I suppose I could shim the right one up a bit, but why would=20
there
be a difference in the first place? Bent axle? :-(
