carlsbad raceway (partII)
Bad email probs today, sheesh...
OK,
R/T CC with tonneau, 2500 miles 90deg, 90% humidity
16.1 ET first run
16.13 ET second run (1.37 RT, must a been napping)
15.7 ET third run (my wife) with a .9 RT (shes quick for
her first time out
ever)
15.87 ET final run (had to go see gramps) Beat a stock
69 350SS camaro, (he
wasnt too happy)
Impressions:
The truck can go a lot faster. I have no skills (yet)
as a drag racer. I
hope this will change. We are hooked big time.
All times were posted with the Overdrive ON... I hate
that little button
for racing. Turn the motor off to ogle at the 8.6
second VW (holy cow...)
and start, stage, and shift into fourth at 80MPH...
Next time Ill put a big
sign inside saying turn the &&*&^*^% overdrive OFF!
Launch at RPMs greater than 1100. I was so wimpy about
my tires I was
trying to keep em from spinning... What a losing
concept. The engine seems
to dog it without getting into the higher RPM range off
the line.
Finally, The ODBII seemed to learn something during the
day, cause on my
last run the truck pulled harder from 50-80+ MPH than it
did on the previous
runs. A lot harder! It was as hot as it got, so it had
no "right" to go
faster, but it did, although my ET was high due to my
wienie driving style.
Wonder what went on and how do I get MORE???
Next weekend, Low 15s or bust... (hopefully no bust....
pleeeese)
