Hey DML,
Finally contacted Pat Barrett @ Level 10 transmissions in NJ. Nice guy! We
discussed the merits of the level 10 Hydrosystem kit (detailed install
article in the september issue of HPM). The Hydrosystem kit was developed
as a 3 level kit (like the B&M pioneering stuff) and is definitley available
for the 98 Dak lineup (46RE) They also have kits for all odf the other
dakota slush box flavors. Pat spoke highly of the turbo action kits for
race purposes but thought they were a little too agressive for lots of
street use. His statement was "the hydrosystem has the best 1/4-1/2
throttle programming of all the calibration kits". An is "equivalent under
WOT" to the other kits. He was in the Arab Emitrates (sic?) building an
800hp dual turbo SUV for the royal family. It was getting about 1600km on a
transmission before "destruction". They recalibrated it. now its been
going for 2 years without a failure? Sounds interesting. They are very
willing to do a group purchase deal! The list price for their kit is 129.00
I think. More research on the way...
