I get about 13.5 mpg, mostly city. I noticed about a 1/2 mpg increase when
I added headers & exhaust. '98 Sport, CC, 4x4, auto, 5.2, K&N OEM style air
filter, Gibson headers & exhaust, Rhino liner.

Okay, we had questions recently about 4x4 et's, but what about mileage?

I've got a 3 inch 3 chamber Flowmaster, Mobil 1 0W30, 180 degree 'stat,
and have tried both the 10" edlebrock air cleaner and the replacement
K&N filter. And I've got the auto and 3.55 gears with the 31x10.50x15
tires. Using a common Memphis to Little Rock run as a judge, I got 12.9
with the Edlebrock and 13.8 with the K&N...oh the K&N has a homemade
cold air intake. I think the big problem with the 4x4 is aero drag. I
got 13.1 going over this morning, but 17.1 coming back. Difference
being, when I came back I pretty much stayed behind semis drafting them
at 70. I noticed that I can get over 17mpg on level stretches up to 85,
if I am on the bumper of a truck....only about 12 if I go to pass him.
I'm just wondering what other V8 4x4's get, especially auto tranny. I
still want to add the Jet Stage2 and put Redline in the front and rear
diffs and see what difference that will make.
