Actually , in the state of Georgia , the *official* Tornado Alley extends
from Columbus , GA , on a North-Easterly path to the South Carolina border
. Basically , it would follow Interstate 85 from Alabama to South Carolina .
I live at exit number 9 on I-85 about 35 minutes from the Alabama state
line , and about 35 minutes from Atlanta .
We have had at least two confirmed tornados in my county alone this year ,
and I can remember that about 8 years ago , a tornado destroyed the same
exact motel , in the same exact place , two years in a row .
So Ben is not *that* far from his local chapter of Tornado Alley .
