Jack,
I went with the stainless hose from Summit and it worked out well. Before I
got the hose, I shortened the factory hose by about an 1 1/2". Just thought
you might like to know. For what its worth, I now have the K&N FIPK, and went
though the same B.S. you are going thru, scrapping about 2 bases and several
elements in the process.
