The Mopar engineers seem to agree on a 50 hp increase w/all
the hardware mods stated (less the decals). Has anyone on the DML
considered or done this?>>
I've gone through the process of changing the cam & springs on my truck, and
my friend's 98 Dak 318 5 spd ... I used a larger Comp Cams grind, while he
stayed with the Mopar Perf grind. He ended up disappointed with the MP grind
and ended up wanting more, but he still dropped 3 or so tenths from the cam
swap alone.
The cam he ran was very streetable, didn't have a hint of a lope, lots of low
end, and the dealer performing the warranty work on his transmission wasn't
clued off to the cam swap.
You may want to run a 1.7 ratio roller rocker with the MP cam, too.
