Whoa, Jon. I'm not an idiot, and I know that when people use a
product, if they are pleased, they say it's the best thing since
sliced bread (what I've heard from other nitrous users). I also know
that a salesman isn't going to bend over backwards to tell me about
hazzards associated with the use of their product. I've seen the pics
in the drag mags of the hoods being blown off on the line with nitrous
too, but I figured these were max effort motor expectations from time
to time.

Please fill me in more about the dangers of nitrous with the "beer
keg" stock intake. My Dak is my one and only vehicle - I want to go
fast, but I've also got to get to work, son's soccer practice, ect...
Thanks a lot.

Tate

The Nitrous Express setup should work on all model years. The
problem
with the other systems is that they're dry, so they rely on the fuel
injectors to get the proper fuel/nitrous ratio. The '94 and up
trucks
got rid of the fuel return line, which makes it difficult to raise
the
fuel pressure. The Nitrous Express systems are wet, meaning they
inject
fuel along with the nitrous, so the fuel injectors do their usual
thing,
and the additional fuel nescessary is injected right along with the
nitrous
via a jet.

So far, there isn't really a comparison; Nitrous Express has a
setup
for the '94+ trucks, NOS doesn't. By the way, Drag Racing Monthly is
currently running a 2 issue series on nitrous; you might still be
able
to get the first part. It provided an interesting look at the
mindset
and philosophies of the various nitrous system manufacturers. (Like,
why they do it they way they do, etc)

If you do decide to go with a wet system like this, the M1 intake
manifold would be a good thing to have. Its a wet manifold so it'll
reduce the chances of fuel puddling in the intake manifold and taking
the top of your engine off. The last I heard, the Nitrous Express
setup
will work with the stock manifold, but they recommend the M1.
 Personally,
I was planning on getting the M1 anyway, but if you weren't this
would
be an additional expense...
