Mopar Thoughts

Please excuse this somewhat off subject post. I have been reading
this list for awhile and feel compelled to express some things.

Since about 1984 Chrysler Corp. is the only one of the "Big Three"
that has done anything innovative in the automotive scene. Ford and GM have
waited in the wings to see if Chryco fails then they jump on the band wagon
and try to make out like they thought it all up and did the development to
perfect this "ALL NEW" concept.

K-cars. Yes they had their problems. Yes they were butt ugly. Yes
they filled a much needed market segment. GM tried the same idea with the
Saturn, and still haven't been as successful as Chryco.

Minivans. Ford has finally come close with the Windstar. Gm is still
trying.

Ram Pick Ups. What can I say. Chevy's "ALL NEW" 99's look so much
like the previous model I wonder what is "ALL NEW". Looks like they changed
some front end sheet metal slightly. Haven't read anything about any major
changes in drive train. Ford took a shot, but I really have to say it's too
pretty for a truck.

Dakota. Anything out there even close????????? Gm and Ford are still
playing with V6's. GM's V6 is rated with higher HP, but........

I am still waiting for something from GM/Ford that will qualify as
an "off the shelf" Sport Truck. If the after market would just support us
(Dakota owners) there wouldn't be any question about what was/is the best
buy. Course if Ma Mopar hadn't shot herself in the foot with those six lug
wheels.....

LH, Stratus, Neon, Viper, Prowler, and soon to be released
Copperhead. GM & Ford where are you????? "The Caddie that Zigs" is an Opel.
The Cougar looks like a poor copy of an Eclipse, and under the skin is an
Escort ZR2. "Wider is better." Where have I heard that before?
Step up to the line and do something truly innovative, that's the
challenge GM & Ford.
