All cars from something like 85-92 or 93 have no lead in the paint. The
replacement wasn't a very good one and is what is causing the paint
problems on the hoods and tops of most of those year model cars. My Dad
had an '87 Dak and half the paint was gone off of the hood and top of
his truck. They've apparently found a new replacement for teh 93 or 94 +
vehicles that is supposed to be better than lead.
