The article listed this as the Vortec 4.3. It also
listed the same "sport suspension" as the SS S10. From 98 to 99 did they
change the HP on the engine? This article is 98 Truck of The Year, so these
trucks are 98's. Sonoma and S10 are the same truck with a different grill.
Not saying you are wrong. Just repeating what the
article claimed.

Those figures are for the base 4.3l V6. The optional Vortec 4.3 V6
was somewhere around 190hp back when I was shopping in '95; I have no
idea what they've done since then.

I don't either, but the power/weight ratio differential gets a bit funkier
when you consider that they must have put the Vortec into the S10-SS.
