I would be willing to place a small wager that the R/T is still
going to be the best value for an "off the shelf" performance truck.

Not to knock our R/T brethren, but I'd go with a 5.2L 5-speed personally.
I hardly think that the questionable extra 20HP the R/T has is worth
paying retail. And the automatic...don't get me started...
