intake? SO that the air going into the engine is cooloer (more dense)

Yep. The same reason racers love a 55 degree day! Cool air is more
dense and makes more power. The only problem here is if you are a
serious bracket racer, going faster is not necessarily better. Bracket
racing is 2 things...reaction time and running the dial in. I went to a
huge money race here at Memphis a few years ago. We were running 7.07
in the 1/8th. In the first 7 rounds we never faced a car slower than
6.06. Beat every one of them because I consistently cut .50? lights and
run 7.07? to 7.85. If you have enough ice and do it the same every
round, it's a good thing. But if you run out of ice your time will
increase. Of course if you're just testing and trying just to see how
fast your truck is, then it's a really good idea. Might also try taking
the air filter out (only at the track).
