Been there, done that!! Bought a nice ARE cap in May... I think
150lbs is conservative for this cap though... Lot's and lot's of
glass = heavy mother!

It seems that to give yourself traction on snow and icy roads you need to
have some weight on the back axle. This is cool, but isn't it kind of hard to
use the bed of the truck to haul things around when you're putting some other
weight back there? Why not just buy a cheap shell (or a nice one if you can
afford it) and give yourself some extra enclosed space to work with. The shell
should weigh about 80-150 lbs and you get space to spare. You even can use it
during the summer! Sorry, this is just my practical side talking, but
sometimes it doesn't realize that sand and snow are fairly inexpensive
themselves.... ^_^
