If I were you I would vigorously persue the parts store to have them pay to
have it fixed .

They will deny you at first , but be persistent . Don't back down .

First send a letter (just a letter , not even certified) to the head
offices or the owner of the store .

If that doesn't work , send a certified letter , return receipt requested .

If that doesn't work , go and pay about $20 and have a lawyer advise you
and then have him send them a letter on his letterhead .

If they still give you crap , tell them that you will notify the media in
your area at the incompetance of the parts store staff and that you will
make an issue of it in the public .

Parts stores depend heavily on their reputation . For instance , I will
never go to an Autozone , because the one here is always staffed by people
that haven't a clue . I would much rather go to my local Advance auto parts
, even if it is slightly higher , because they have very knowledgeable
people . I will also tell you now NEVER to have anything done at a Wal-Mart
super center . They overfilled my oil when I had it changed many years ago
, causing the thing to start leaking . and they say that they greased "all
three grease fittings" . Well , that's great , but the car I had at the
time had seven .

Just give it a shot , and don't back down .

(trustworthy up till this time) gave me a replacement which was one row
(cooling fins) larger. While installing it I noticed it was a tight fit. I
called them and they assured me that this was the correct part number. I
know I should know better but, there was less that 3/8 of an inch clearance
between the rad. and the fan. This worked fine for about 6 months. Then
while my wife was driving it, it lost all of the coolant. The fan had been
hitting the rad ever so slightly (I'm one who listens to the motor more
that the radio) upon acceleration. My wife whom I love dearly, doesn't fly
by the gauges even after years of coaching by myself, and didn't notice the
temp. Well my beloved Dak overheated to the point of shutting itself down!
After I found out (and overheated myself to the point of denying my wife of
driving priveliges for all eternity) I set about fixing it. The auto store
realized the mistake after a !

the engine. I replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. At a stop it labors
at around 300-400 rpm. Every once and awhile it'll stall in reverse after
hitiing the gas and releasing it. I hate to adjust the idle up because I
know this is NOT the correct way to fix it. Any one who can help, I would
greatly appreciate it.
