poor idle

Hello,
I'm writing this in regards to an unfortunate experience I'm going through right now.
I had to replace my radiator in my 93 Dak 318ci.The Auto parts place (trustworthy up till this time) gave me a replacement which was one row (cooling fins) larger. While installing it I noticed it was a tight fit. I called them and they assured me that this was the correct part number. I know I should know better but, there was less that 3/8 of an inch clearance between the rad. and the fan. This worked fine for about 6 months. Then while my wife was driving it, it lost all of the coolant. The fan had been hitting the rad ever so slightly (I'm one who listens to the motor more that the radio) upon acceleration. My wife whom I love dearly, doesn't fly by the gauges even after years of coaching by myself, and didn't notice the temp. Well my beloved Dak overheated to the point of shutting itself down! After I found out (and overheated myself to the point of denying my wife of driving priveliges for all eternity) I set about fixing it. The auto store realized the mistake after a !
!
short discussion, and gave me the correct rad. Only now I have a mis in the engine. I replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. At a stop it labors at around 300-400 rpm. Every once and awhile it'll stall in reverse after hitiing the gas and releasing it. I hate to adjust the idle up because I know this is NOT the correct way to fix it. Any one who can help, I would greatly appreciate it.
